A ‘Back of the Box” favorite. Food manufactures after the American [USA] Civil War started putting recipes on the backs of their containers, to show different uses for their products, and ultimately, sell more product. We use the Nestle Chocolate Chip, 1939 back of the package recipe for our The Toll House Restaurant’s Chocolate Chip Cookies.

The only changes we make are; we use dark Belgium chocolate chunks rather than the required Nestle chocolate chips and toasted pecans instead of walnuts. We bake our chocolate chip cookies to a chewy texture. These cookies are best with milk, coffee or tea.

This is another ‘back of the box’ recipe. Skippy Crunchy Peanut Butter came out with their favorite peanut butter cookie in 1933 and it has become a classic ever since. We added our Belgium dark chocolate chunks to the mix, peanut butter and chocolate, they were made for one another.
